Abstract:

The impact of anxiety on performance is one of the cores of competitive psychological research. However, due to the limitations in study methods and techniques, the exploration of competitive stress and stress training with high ecological validity are limited. When it comes to applying VR technology to sports psychology, there are three key factors to consider. Firstly, providing psychological training with high-pressure situation setting with both internal validity and external validity. Secondly, it will be a technology that teaching athletes how to cope with stress by exposing them in seemingly realistic environment and transferring the traditional sporting skill. Thirdly, the effectiveness of psychological training can be evaluated via the feedback of behavioral, mental and bioneural indicators. To improve the application of VR technology and deepen the empirical study evidence, the universal and specific high-pressure sport game scenes as well as a sort of anti-stress training system will be established in the future.
