Abstract: Observing the current educational practice in China in the background of evidencebased practice, we can find the absence of “evidence” for educational practice and the lack of scientific research on education problems. So teachers’ consciousness of theory and ability of practice need to be improved. For teachers, educational psychology is an important resource to improve their theoretical literacy and teaching ability, and is an important scientific basis for educational practice. Recently, the book “psychology for teachers” published by the East China Normal University press is a useful attempt to span the bridge between psychology and educational practice. The book has the following characteristics: (1) the multiple perspectives of psychology to examine and interpret the educational practice; (2) highlights the Enlightenment of positive psychology to education; (3) the reader group and the audience are fully considered, and the book is a real psychology“for teachers”from the content and form;(4) highlights the educational value orientation of “learnercentered” and “learningcentered”, embodies the educational ideology of “teaching for learning” and “teaching by learning”; (5) the view is not extreme and radical, shows the “balance”, “the golden mean” thought, and strives to objectively display various psychological principles and their educational applications.
Key words: psychology; educational practice; multiple perspectives; positive psychology; learnercentered
