Abstract:

In order to deeply explore the potential categories of college students’ problematic internet use and its relationship with death attitude. A sample of 1596 college students were investigated with Problem Internet Use Scale and Death Attitude Scale. The potential profile analysis method was used to analyze the problematic internet use. The results showed that: (1) Three latent classes were identified, including deep addiction style, internet obsessive style, and internet relationship style. (2) Internet obsessive and internet relationship had higher scores in the dimension of natural acceptance of death, and deep addicted had higher scores in the other four dimensions than the other two groups. These results indicated that deep addictions are more likely to have a negative attitude toward death, while internet obsessives and internet relationships are more likely to have positive death attitudes.
