Abstract: This study conducted a situational simulation experiment with employees as subjects to explore the impact of interactional injustice on third-party punishment behavior and the mechanism of moral outrage. The results showed that compared with the interactional justice situation, the third-party subjects had a higher level of punishment for the unfair leader in the interactive injustice situation. Moral outrage had a partial mediation between interactional injustice and third-party punishment. Based on these results, our study confirms that the third-party punishment phenomenon existed in the context of organizational interaction injustice and provides supporting evidence for the “deontic model” of organizational justice.
Key words: interactional injustice, thirdparty punishment, moral outrage, deontic justice
