The Concept Structure and Measurement of the Sustainable Mental Model

Abstract: As a new construct, Sustainable Mental Model can be defined as the cognitive schemata, environmental value and psychological mechanism when someone dwells with environmental problems and sustainability issues, with which we can explain, judge and predict sustainability phenomenon. After literature research and theoretical deduction, this article suggested a model with three dimensions, including sustainability awareness, environmental belief and behavior intention. After several critical and scientific research steps including scale developing, items analyzing, factor confirming analysis, the author put forwards valid and robust scales. It shall be deemed as an aggregate multidimensional construct(AMC) in this study. Thus, the load of different dimensions can be estimated with SEM, after introducing three dependent variables.
