Abstract: In this paper, 200 college students were selected as subjects, and the experimental priming paradigm was used to explore the effect of stereotype threat on sexual political knowledge and efficacy. The results showed that: (1) Stereotype threat can partially explain the gender gap on political knowledge. (2) But contrary to what was hypothesized, stereotype threat did not explain the internal political efficacy gap between men and women; mens score was significantly higher than women in both conditions. (3)There was no difference on external political efficacy between men and women. Meanwhile, compared with the internal political efficacy, the subjects external political efficacy was low.

Key words: stereotype threat, political knowledge, internal political efficacy;external political efficacy
