The Relationship between Work Connectivity Behaviour After Hours and Couple Burnout

Abstract:

This study constructs a moderated mediator model to explore the influence mechanism of WCBA on couple burnout. Based on the conservation of resources theory and spillover-crossover model and after conducting the work connectivity behaviour after hour scale, work-family conflict scale, dyadic coping inventory, and couple burnout measure, 1,620 married persons were recruited as participants. The results illustrated that (1) WCBA had a significant positive predictive effect on couple burnout and work-family conflict; (2) work-family conflict mediated the relationship between WBCA and couple burnout; and (3) dyadic coping moderated the effect of work-family conflict on couple burnout. This provides guidance for reducing the negative impact of WCBA on marital burnout.
