This study adopted longitudinal design to investigate the development of college freshmens mobile phone dependence and social adaptation, and used crosslagged regression analysis to examine the causal relationship between mobile phone dependence and social adaptation. There were 302 college freshmen participated the oneyear followup study. The China College Students Adjustment Scale (CCSAS) and the Mobile Phone Addiction Scale were used in this research. The results indicated that (1) During the oneyear followup study, college freshmens level of mobile phone dependence decreased, but the difference was not significant. And the status of social adaptation tended to be stable; (2) There were significant relationships among pretest and posttest mobile phone dependence and social adaptation, which meant that the higher mobile phone dependence, the lower tendency of social adaptation; (3) Crosslagged regression analysis indicated that mobile phone dependence caused college freshmens social adaptation. Further regression analysis showed the dimensions of salience and social comfort have significant negative prediction on college freshmens social adaptation, and the prediction of mobile phone dependence on social adaptation are simultaneous. The results showed that mobile phone dependence was a risk factor for reporting social adaptation for the college freshmen.

Development and Validation of the Occupational Mental Sub-health Questionnaire for Metro Drivers
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2017, 5 (8):  463-470.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2017.08.003
    Abstract ( 177 )   PDF(pc) (686KB) ( 538 )   Save
Based on theoretical analysis and relevant literature, combined with interview and open investigation, the Occupational Mental Subhealth Questionnaire for Metro Drivers was originally developed. A sample 1 was used for exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and a sample 2 was used for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The EFA was used to determine the hypothetical factor structure and internal consistency. The CFA was applied to assess the construct validity of the scale. According to the results, 18 items were extracted three factors namely emotional subhealth, somatization subhealth and social subhealth, can explain 51.57% of the total variation, the loading of items ranged from 0.40 to 0.80. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that infit indices of CFA with questionnaire met the psychometrics requirement. The criterionrelated validity and reliability were also suitable for the demands of psychometrics. It had proved that the Occupational Mental Subhealth Questionnaire for Metro Drivers had high reliability and validity and could be used to measure occupational subhealth for metro drivers.

The Development of the Apotheosizeothers and Demonizeothers Narcissism Questionnaire
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2017, 5 (8):  471-481.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2017.08.004
    Abstract ( 211 )   PDF(pc) (733KB) ( 391 )   Save
Based on the theoretical assumption of the otheroriented narcissism, the Apotheosizedothers and Demonizedothers Narcissism Questionnaire was developed and its structure was examined. The initial questionnaire were originally developed in 43 items and then explored by factor analysis with 322 college students. The formal questionnaire was the administered by confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and variance analysis. Two subscales were developed and coined as apotheosizedothers narcissism (AON) and demonizedothers narcissism (DON) respectively, which agree with the hypothesis. For each factor, three subdimensionswere extracted. For the AON dimension, it consists of apotheosizing powerful others, apotheosizing twins, and integration with others. And the DON dimension includes demonizing powerful others, demonizing nonpowerful others, and segmentation with others. The Cronbachs alpha coefficient of AON was 081, the splithalf reliability was 076, the testretest reliability was 0.75. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of DON was 0.83, the split-half reliability was 0.75, the testretest reliability was 0.86. The correlations between the developed questionnaire and the validitive variables also support the theoretical assumptions. The reliabilities and validity features of the apotheosizedothers and demonizedothers narcissism questionnaires meet the psychometrical requirements.

A Qualitative Study on the Information Transmission of Business Web Portal——Take Sohu and Yahoo as An Example
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2017, 5 (8):  482-492.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2017.08.005
    Abstract ( 201 )   PDF(pc) (1456KB) ( 554 )   Save
To explore the characteristics and differences of the information transmission about domestic and foreign business portal websites, and the role of the business web portal as a gatekeeper, we sampled Sohu and Yahoo news and combined qualitative and quantitative methods. We found (1) Sohu: the Sohu news transfer information mostly concern on family(female, marriage, lust temptation), officialdom(occupation), violence (military and criminal), history (history and life, famous people), entertainment (entertainment). Among them, women, marriage and lust temptation, entertainment accounts for a large proportion of the titles, which containing many teaser and provocative words. Also, Sohu is highly concerns about womens topic, and negative affairs take a large account, such as death, war, military crime. (2) Yahoo: the Sohu news transfer information mostly concern on people (life, group, name, achievement, money, entertainment), science (science and technology), country (International politics), home (family and marrige love). Among them, international politics, life, cultural and entertainment accounts for a large proportion. Also, Yahoo tends to use pictures to show emerging events, and pays close attention to news events. It also leads people to pay close attention to topics such as life. Both domestic and foreign websites can theoretically be raised to physiological needs driven and social needs driven. Sohu has weakened the responsibility of “gatekeeper” in information transmission. So, Chinas business portal site should learn from foreign models and select the appropriate network monitoring model on the basis of full respect for the national conditions.

Research Design and Application of Photovoice Approach
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2017, 5 (8):  493-499.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2017.08.006
    Abstract ( 817 )   PDF(pc) (591KB) ( 1057 )   Save
As an action research methodology, photovoice approach aims to promote personal and societal change by organizing participants to take photographs regarding a salient personal or societal concern, share these photos in discussion groups, and reflect on the causes and cures for the issue. Implementing photovoice methodology involves five steps, namely, identification of the goals and themes, participant recruitment, training and instruction, photography and discussion, and data analysis. The advantages of photovoice methodology might comprise of the shift in research perspective from researchers toward participants, the enhancement of participants motivation, the utilization of visual images as a tool, and the opportunity for disadvantaged groups to have a voice. Likewise, the weaknesses of this approach may lie in lack of standard evaluation system, substantial cost, long duration, and ethical issues. To address these issues, researchers have put forward several solutions. Specifically, it is recommended to combine photovoice methodology with psychological intervention experiments whereby the effectiveness on photovoice research can be evaluated based on both qualitative and quantitative evidence.

The Relationship and Influencing Factors Between Personal Values and Wellbeing: A Review
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2017, 5 (8):  500-509.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2017.08.007
    Abstract ( 541 )   PDF(pc) (674KB) ( 566 )   Save
Personal values are guiding principles in our life which affect peoples cognition, emotion and motivation. Personal values have a close association with wellbeing. At present, two views concerning the relationship between personal values and wellbeing have been proposed: (1) Spiritual values would help to build ones wellbeing while materialism values would destruct. (2) Materialism values would not cause negative effect on wellbeing and may even enhance wellbeing. This divergence can be analyzed from four aspects: (1) The impact of operational definitions. (2) The impact of social contexts. (3) The impact of characteristic of participants. (4) The impact of individual internal factors. Further research on the relationship between personal values and wellbeing is expected to further investigate the causal relationship between variables through experimental treatment, and intensify the study of spiritual values.
