The Relationship Between Ego Depletion and Attention Bias of Altruistic Information,SelfInterested Information

Abstract: This study uses the classical dual-task paradigm, combined with the Stroop paradigm to explore whether the suppression of altruistic or self-interested information bias will consume self-control resource. The results showed that the correct rate of the altruistic group and the self-interested group in the Stroop variant task was significantly higher than that of the neutral group, and the altruistic group was significantly longer than the neutral group in the correct response time of the classical Stroop color word detection task. These findings suggest that the individuals inhibition of altruistic information needs to consume self-control resource, while the inhibition of self-interested information does not.
