Abstract:

To explore the relationship between perceived parental warmth and adolescents’social mindfulness, as well as the role of the security and meaning in life in this relationship, this study surveyed 957 middle school students using the Perceived Parental Warmth Scale, the Social Mindfulness Scale, the Sense of Security Scale, and the Meaning in Life Scale. The results indicated that: (1) Perceived parental warmth signi?cantly and positively predicted social mindfulness; (2) Both the security and meaning in life partially mediated this relationship; (3) Perceived parental warmth also affected social mindfulness through the chain mediation of the security and meaning in life. These results enhance our understanding of the mechanisms linking perceived parental warmth to adolescents’social mindfulness and offer practical insights for interventions designed to improve this aspect of adolescent development.
