Abstract: Based on the cue-utilization model, we sorted out relevant research in this field from the three aspects of intrinsic cues, extrinsic cues, and mnemonic cues that influence peoples judgment of learning. Then, we summarized two potential mechanisms for the cue effect of judgment of learning (belief VS. processing fluency). In addition, we also gave some suggestions about the future research. The future research should continue to explore the sensitivity of judgment of learning to intrinsic cues and extrinsic cues, clarify the role of belief in judgment of learning, explore the conditions for the process fluency to play a role in learning judgment and so on.

Key words: judgment of learning, cue-utilization model, belief, processing fluency, analytic processing theory
