Hyperscanning Based onFunctional Nearinfrared Spectroscopy

Abstract: As a new paradigm, hyperscanning is emerging from traditional measurements for neuroscience. By hyperscanning, two or more individuals brain activities can be simultaneously measured, which can reveal the interbrain neural coupling during social interactions. In this context and trends, functional nearinfrared spectroscopy could provide a noninvasive, easyoperating, and ecologically validate technique for hyperscanning. By now, the fNIRSbasedhyperscanning has been utilized in various social interactions, such as cooperation, imitation and conversation. Wavelet coherence has been widely used for analysis of interbrain synchronization. Furthermore,fNIRSbased crossbrain neurofeedback will be one of the most important developments of hyperscanning.
