Effects of Gratitude Contemplation Intervention on Improving Life Satisfaction in College Students

Abstract: In order to examine the effect of gratitude contemplation intervention on life satisfaction in college students,48 college students were randomly assigned to the intervention group (n=24) and the control group (n=24). During four weeks, intervention group received gratitude contemplation intervention, while the control group received no intervention. All of the participants completed the Gratitude Questionnaire-6(GQ-6) and the CASLSS before and after intervention. The results indicated that after four-week intervention, intervention group showed significantly higher score in the gratitude and life satisfaction than the control group; intervention group showed significant increase in the gratitude and life satisfaction. Thus it can be seen, gratitude contemplation intervention could increase efficiently college students level of gratitude and life satisfaction.
