In order to explore the relationship between dark triad and vocational college students and the mediating role of self-control between them, we investigated 721 students in Jiangsu and Shaanxi vocational schools, by using Dirty Dozen, Brief Self-control Scale and Chinese Buss-Perry Attack Questionnaire. Results indicated that: (1) The dark triad level of one-child students was higher than that of non-only-child students. (2) There was a significantly negative correlation between dark triad and self-control, a significantly negative correlation between self-control and aggressive behavior, and a significant positive correlation between dark triad and aggressive behavior. (3) The mediation model showed that self-control played a partially mediating role between dark triad and aggressive behavior.

Aiming to investigate the level of the burnout and further explore the moderating role of perceived organizational justice in the relationship between emotional intelligence and burnout and its three dimensions among primary and middle school teachers. A total of 285 primary and middle school teachers completed measures of emotional intelligence, burnout and the organizational Justice. The results showed that: (1)Teachers' burnout peaks in 6~10 years of teaching experience, to be specific, teachers' emotional exhaustion and dehumanization increased at first and then decreased with the increase of teaching experience, while the reduced personal accomplishment decreased at first and then slowly increased with the increase of teaching experience; (2)Emotional intelligence was negatively correlated with teachers burnout and its three dimensions; (3)Organizational justice partially mediated the relationship of emotional intelligence and teachers' burnout and emotional exhaustion, while there was not found the mediating role in the influence of emotional intelligence on teachers' dehumanization and reduced personal accomplishment.

    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2021, 9 (7):  402-410.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2021.07.003
    Abstract ( 411 )   PDF(pc) (714KB) ( 586 )   Save
To examine the effect of mindfulness training on self-objectification, the study used a follow-up design with a pretest and posttest on both experimental and control group. During 7 consecutive days, 15 minutes daily, the mindfulness group received brief mindfulness meditation training which included breath monitoring and acceptance, the monitor group received breath training which only included breath monitoring but not acceptance, while the control group received no intervention. Results: In mindfulness group, the level of self-objectification was significantly lower in both posttest and half a month follow-up than that in pretest. There was no significant difference in the level of selfobjectification between posttest and half a month follow-up, nor between half a year follow-up and pretest. The level of half a year follow-up was significantly higher than that of posttest and half a month follow-up. And there were no difference among the four tests in the control group or the monitor group. In conclusion, brief mindfulness meditation training (Monitor+Accept) could significantly reduce college students' level of self-objectification, and it still had a sustained effect after half a month, but the effect was no longer significant after half a year; the monitoring training (Monitor Only) could not significantly reduce college students' level of self-objectification.

Examining the Differential Effects of Dual-dimensional Authoritarian Leadership on Job Performance in Military Units: A Moderated Mediation Model
    ZHU Haiteng
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2021, 9 (7):  411-424.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2021.07.004
    Abstract ( 345 )   PDF(pc) (820KB) ( 308 )   Save
The effectiveness of authoritarian leadership (AL) has been subjected to sustained academic controversy. In recent years, some researchers have argued that AL should be divided into two opposite components: the dominance-focused AL, or zhuanquan; and the discipline-focused AL, or shangyan. Nonetheless, the effect, psychological mechanism and boundary conditions of the two dimensions remain to be scrutinized. Informed by the self-determination theory and person-supervisor fit approach, the current study hypothesized a multilevel model to uncover the differential effects of two opposite components of authoritarian leadership, i. e., zhuanquan and shangyan, in military units. Meanwhile, the mediating role of subordinates' basic psychological needs satisfaction and the moderating effect of compliance to authorities were also scrutinized. A supervisor-subordinate paired sample composed of 70 squad leaders and 278 soldiers was collected and the results were as follows: (1) Overall, zhuanquan had negative impacts on subordinates' basic psychological needs satisfaction and job performance, while the effects of shangyan were positive. (2) Subordinates' satisfaction of the needs for relatedness and competence mediated the effects of zhuanquan and shangyan on job performance. (3) Subordinates' compliance to authorities moderated the influence of zhuanquan and shangyan on the fulfillment of basic psychological needs. Specifically, when subordinates manifested higher endorsement of authorities, the effect of zhuanquan on satisfaction of the needs for relatedness was weaker and the effects of shangyan on satisfaction of the needs for competence and autonomy were stronger. Moreover, the mediating effects of subordinates' basic psychological needs fulfillment were also contingent upon their compliance to authorities.

Effects of Regional and Individual Epidemic Exposure on Interpersonal Conflicts: The Moderating Role of Meaning-focused Coping
GE Yiping, MA Min, ZHANG Li
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2021, 9 (7):  425-431.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2021.07.005
    Abstract ( 481 )   PDF(pc) (698KB) ( 455 )   Save
About three thousand valid questionnaires were collected online in non-Hubei regions to investigate the relationships among epidemic exposure, meaning-focused coping strategies and interpersonal conflicts during the COVID-19 outbreak. Results showed that interpersonal conflicts were positively correlated with the degree of individual epidemic exposure. Compared with others, residents lived in low-risk areas with high individual exposure were more likely to be involved in interpersonal conflicts. Furthermore, the meaning-focused coping played a significant moderating role during this process. It was found that among people with low epidemic exposure, the negative impact of epidemic exposure can be significantly reduced by adopting meaning-focused coping strategies.

To explore the relationship between sense of hope, state anxiety and subjective wellbeing incollege students during the epidemic of COVID-19. A sample of 185 subjects were investigated with Adult Dispositional Hope Scale, Selfrating Anxiety Scale and General WellBeing Schedule. The results indicated that: (1) State anxiety is significantly negatively correlated with subjective wellbeing, state anxiety is significantly negatively correlated with sense of hope, and sense of hope is significantly positively correlated with subjective wellbeing; (2) Sense of hope played a partial mediating role between state anxiety and subjective wellbeing. The above results show that college students state anxiety can not only directly predict subjective wellbeing, but also indirectly affect subjective wellbeing through the mediating role of sense of hope.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence and psychological mechanism of child abuse on senior high school students aggressive behavior. Participants were 411 senior high school students recruited randomly or in cluster from Shangqiu,Henan province. All of them completed four questionnaires: CTQ-SF, SCSQ , IQ and BPAQ. The results were as follows: (1) The level of childhood maltreatment was positively correlated with the hostile interpretation bias, negative coping and aggressive behavior of senior high school students;(2) Hostile interpretation bias was positively correlated with negative coping and aggressive behavior. (3) Hostile interpretation bias and negative coping played a chain mediating role in the relationship between child abuse and senior high school students aggressive behavior. Therefore, child abuse can not only directly affect the aggressive behavior of senior high school students, but also indirectly influence the aggressive behavior through hostile interpretation bias and negative coping.
