Fear of Happiness is a psychological state in which individuals or social culture hold a negative attitude towards happiness, which comes from the differences in the importance and evaluation attitude of happiness in different cultures. Affect valuation theory and cultural models of self and happiness can be used to explain the internal psychological mechanism and the cross-cultural expression of fear of happiness to a certain extent. The main factual causes for the fear of happiness are: accompanied by happiness and misfortune, moral problems, invite malice, and bad for for oneself and others. Fear of happiness is affected by cognitive beliefs, mental statesand other factors, through the mediating or moderating effects of hope, resilience, and personality traits, to affect people' s mental symptoms, positive mental states. Future research can further explore the conceptual essence and theoretical mechanism, focus on the positive effects, expand domain and method and strengthen the localization research of fear of happiness.
