Virtual Reality for Clinical Psychology

Abstract: Clinical psychology often uses virtual reality technology, a breakthrough of presentation limitations of ordinary stimulus, to further narrow the similarity between lab and the real situation. It brings revolutionary progress for psychological research. This paper combs the virtual reality technology applied in phobia, anxiety, eating disorders and posttraumatic stress, analyzes three advantages by comparison with traditional psychology, and finally points out that the application of virtual reality technology in clinical psychology is still at the laboratory stage and needs to be improved in technology, the treatment schedule and the treatment scope.
