Abstract:

To explore the effects of emotional states and trait affections on cognitive flexibility, this study used a questionnaire to screen out participants with trait positive affection and trait negative affection, and then asked them to complete the task-switching in positive and negative emotional states. The results showed that the cognitive flexibility in a positive emotional state is significantly higher than that in a negative emotional state. And there is no significant difference in cognitive flexibility among individuals with different trait affections. However, the accuracy of individuals with trait positive affection is significantly higher than that of individuals with trait negative affection in task-switching, and there is no significant difference between different emotional states. In conclusion, cognitive flexibility is significantly affected by emotional states but not affected by trait affection, which can only affect the accuracy of tasks.
