Abstract: This study examined the effects of value affirmation intervention on female college students' mental task performance under stereotype threat following multi-threat framework, and compared the effects of group-affirmation and self-affirmation.  In experiment 1, the subjects who wrote the group-affirmation had lower task performance under group-as-target stereotype threat, and showed greater Stroop interference effect.  In experiment 2, both group-affirmation and self-affirmation can buffer the effect of self-as-target stereotype threat. The current research has verified the effectiveness of value affirmation in eliminating the negative effects of stereotype threat, and the conditions of value affirmation intervention, providing new ideas for stereotype threat intervention.
