The Relationship Between College Students Goals Pursuit and Their General Well-being

Abstract: Object: Investigate the relationship between college students goals pursuit and their general well-being. Methods: Investigate 270 students with goal pursuit scale and general well-being scale. Results: (1)Individuals with a high sense of happiness performed differently with those with a low sense of happiness in the total score of happiness and each dimension of goal persuit scale, not in “care about the results”,“low requirements”,score of leaving the world and score of going into the world. (2)“Fighting spirit” is negatively related to “worry about health”, and is positively ralated to “energy”, “depressedor happy state of mind” and general well-being. “Care about results” is negatively related to “interest in life”. “Usual mind” is positively related to “interest in life”, “depressedor happy state of mind” and general well-being. (3)“usual mind” predicted “interest in life” significantly. “Fighting spirit” predicted “worry about health” reversly. “Fighting spirit” and “usual mind” predicted “energy”. “Fighting spirit” “care about the results” and “usual mind” have significant predict effect to “depressedor happy state of mind”, and “care about the results” predicted “depressedor happy state of mind” reversly. Conclusion : (1)High sense of happinessindividual showed positive goal persuit behavior. (2)Goal pursuit can predict general well-being partly.
