A Research on the Implicit Concept about Psychological Endurance of College Students

Abstract: To understand the implicit structure of “endurance” of contemporary college students, word association method was used to collect data for the word “endurance” as the stimulusbased on spreading activation model.Using questionnaire survey ,81 valid questionnaires were elected and 37 high-frequency words were chosen as the unit of analysis.Another 50 subjects were chosen to classify the concept.The structure was got from cluster analysis. The results showed that “endurance” concept in the minds of contemporary college students included the following four aspects : (1) “initiative”;(2) “willpower”; (3) “self-adaptation”; (4) “enthusiasm”.
