Changes in Chinese Old Peoples Sleep Quality During 2001～2017:A Cross-Temporal Meta-Analysis

Abstract: This study conducted a cross-temporal meta-analysis of 78 studies using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to investigate changes in Chinese old peoples sleep quality (N=70327) from 2001 and 2017. The results showed that: (1) Total score of sleep quality was negatively correlated with the year, which indicated that old peoples sleep quality level has been improved gradually over the past 17 years; (2) The level of sleep quality of old people ( both women and men) increased significantly over time, and the level of sleep quality of male old people was higher than that of female old people; (3) The increasing trend was more salient with rural old people than with their urban counterparts.
