Abstract: In the present study, in order to investigate whether reward can get rid of the bad effect of negative distractor stimuli to perception, we have explored this problem by proactive paradigm. Experiment results show that the reaction time is reduced significantly when participants can gain 005 China yuan every time. But, even though in this situation where subjects can get reward, their reaction time continue to be longer in negative stimuli than in neutral stimuli. We can conclude that negative distractor stimuli can capture attention voluntarily, and it can interrupt all ongoing activities, the reward can not regulate this mechanism.

Key words: reward; negative stimuli; perception; attention bias
