The ERP Study of Emotional Pictures Processing After the Priming of Own Name or Others Name
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  193-200.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.001
    Abstract ( 394 )   PDF(pc) (1120KB) ( 1527 )   Save
There were two experiments in the study, and it adopted ERP technique with high resolution of time to investigate the priming effect of own name or others name on nonattentional processing of emotional pictures. The results revealed that the mean amplitude of LPC was weaker in emotion condition than the neutral condition after own name priming, and the amplitude of LPC was marginally weaker in positive condition than in the neutral condition (p=0.093); after others name priming, the mean amplitude of LPC was greater in emotion condition than the neutral condition, and there was a significant difference (p<0.05) between the negative condition and the neutral condition. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that own name priming can stimulate an individual's selfconcept, improve one's selfcontrol, and promote the completion of tasks, and then inhibit the individual's nonattentional processing of emotional pictures. But others' name priming may not.

The Effect of Emotional Context on Concreteness Effect of Neutral Words
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  201-210.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.002
    Abstract ( 537 )   PDF(pc) (660KB) ( 1543 )   Save
The concreteness effect of word processing refers to the reaction of concrete words in language processing faster than abstract words, and the opposite of that is the abstractness effect of word processing. The current study focused on the effect of affective context of sentences on concrete and abstract word processing under controlling the valence of words. Participants were required to complete the learningrecognition task. The results showed that the processing of concrete words was faster than that of abstract words in the neutral context, namely, there was concreteness effect. However, the concreteness effect disappeared in the emotional contexts (positive and negative), no significant differences existed in the reaction time between abstract words and concrete words. And the reaction time of abstract words was shorter in emotional contexts than that in neutral context. The results indicated that the emotional context could promote the processing of abstract words, supporting the triplecomponent hypothesis of word processing, and the effect of emotion on abstract words was extended from the word itself to the sentence context.

The Relationship between Cyber Victimization and Suicide Ideation of University Students: The Moderator Effect of Meaning in Life
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  211-217.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.003
    Abstract ( 508 )   PDF(pc) (615KB) ( 1484 )   Save
To explore the moderating effect of meaning in life on the relationship between cyber victimization and suicide ideation among university students, 420 college students from four Guangdong universities were investigated with EVictimization Scale (EVS), Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ) and Beck Scale for Suicide IdeationChinese Version (BSICV). The moderate model was tested by the PROCESS program. The simple slope was tested by JohnsonNeymans method. The results indicated that: ①The rate of having cyber victimization in the prior week was 64.3%(270/420); The rate of having suicidal ideation in the prior week was 11.2%(47/420); ②Cyber victimization predicted suicidal ideation of university students positively (β=0.14, p<0.001); ③Meaning in life served to moderate the relationship between cyber victimization and suicidal ideation (β=-0.014, p<0.001), whose effect size was 4. 1%. It suggests that meaning in life could buffer the negative effect of cyber victimization on suicide ideation of university students.

Solutionfocused coaching, generating from postmodern psychology, is the application of solutionfocused approach whose particular technique stems from the belief of solutionfocused therapy. The philosophical beliefs of solutionfocused coaching originated in postmodernism psychology, and its main principles are based on the basic beliefs of solutionfocused therapy. Summarizing the basic techniques, practice model and evaluation approach, this paper is proposed to shed light on the further practice and development on solutionfocused coaching approach.

Development of the College Students SelfFocused Attention Questionnaire
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  225-231.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.005
    Abstract ( 430 )   PDF(pc) (651KB) ( 1221 )   Save
We developed the college students selffocused attention questionnaire(CSSFAQ) and evaluated its reliability and validity. Based on the theory of objective self consciousness and combined with the semi open interview and related literature, this paper sets up the theoretical dimension of CSSFAQ and develops the initial questionnaire on selffocused attention. 296 college students were tested for the first time, and the data was analyzed using item analysis, exploratory factorial analysis. Then 466 college students were formally tested, and the data was analyzed using confirmatory factorial analysis, and the test of reliability and validity. The results show that the CSSFAQ was composed of 21 items in four factors, which were private selffocus attention, public selffocus attention, social fear and the feeling of being revealed. Confirmatory factorial analysis confirmed that the four dimensional model fitted well. The CSSFAQ and its factors scores were positively correlated with the CSSFAQ scores, and the correlation coefficient of each factor was lower than that of the total score. The Cronbachs α coefficients, the split half reliability and the criterion related validity were reached to a significant level. CSSFAQ has high reliability and validity which meets the psychometric features, and can be used as a measurement tool for college students selffocused attention.

The Mechanism of Virtual Reality Technology for Relieving Acute Pain
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  232-244.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.006
    Abstract ( 483 )   PDF(pc) (1240KB) ( 1194 )   Save
Pain is a complex multidimensional subjective experience that can be divided into acute pain and chronic pain. Acute pain is a recent and shortlived pain that is associated with surgical trauma, tissue damage, or certain state of the disease. Virtual reality technology has shown superior pain relief in both clinical practice and laboratory research. Most researches used the continuation of the basic principle of nonpharmaceutical pain relief method, which believed that the analgesic mechanism of virtual reality technology limited cognitive resources, but ignored the virtual reality technology in the process of using positive emotions could also induce patients painful feeling. This study combed the existing virtual reality technology relieving acute pain of clinical and laboratory researches and discussed the mechanism of cognitive processing and emotional processing. Then we set up virtual reality relieving acute pain model. Finally, selected future research directions are discussed, particularly exploration of own defects of virtual reality; dualtask interference; evolutionary advantage in pain processing; the advancement of the coping style and the combination of virtual reality and EEG technology in the study of analgesia.

The Effects of Sandplay Therapy on Individuals with Social Anxiety Disorder
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (4):  245-253.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.04.007
    Abstract ( 491 )   PDF(pc) (615KB) ( 1836 )   Save
As a game therapy, the effect of sandplay therapy on individuals with social anxiety disorder is still being tested. We made a review of cases and studies that use sandplay therapy to reduce individuals level of anxiety and to treat social anxiety disorder, to explore the effectiveness of sandplay therapy on social anxiety disorder. We found that both the individual sandplay therapy and the group sandplay therapy can effectively relieve anxiety of children, teenagers, college students and adults, relieve anxiety symptoms, reduce the individuals avoidance behavior, promote individuals social skill and personality development. The design of study of sandplay therapy intervene social anxiety disorder should be diversified in the future, and can be combined with the technology of cognitive neuroscience and biofeedback, making physiological indexes as one of indexes that can test treatment effectiveness of sandplay. The mechanism and principle of sandplay therapy to alleviate social anxiety should be further researched.
