Abstract: We developed the college students selffocused attention questionnaire(CSSFAQ) and evaluated its reliability and validity. Based on the theory of objective self consciousness and combined with the semi open interview and related literature, this paper sets up the theoretical dimension of CSSFAQ and develops the initial questionnaire on selffocused attention. 296 college students were tested for the first time, and the data was analyzed using item analysis, exploratory factorial analysis. Then 466 college students were formally tested, and the data was analyzed using confirmatory factorial analysis, and the test of reliability and validity. The results show that the CSSFAQ was composed of 21 items in four factors, which were private selffocus attention, public selffocus attention, social fear and the feeling of being revealed. Confirmatory factorial analysis confirmed that the four dimensional model fitted well. The CSSFAQ and its factors scores were positively correlated with the CSSFAQ scores, and the correlation coefficient of each factor was lower than that of the total score. The Cronbachs α coefficients, the split half reliability and the criterion related validity were reached to a significant level. CSSFAQ has high reliability and validity which meets the psychometric features, and can be used as a measurement tool for college students selffocused attention.
