This research aimed to explore the effect of socioeconomic status on subjective well-being, and the mediating role of negotiable fate. A self-reported questionnaire survey using socioeconomic status scale, negotiable fate scale, life satisfaction scale, positive emotion and negative emotion scale was conducted to collect 462 college students data. The results indicated that(1)Socioeconomic status was significantly positively correlated to life satisfaction and positive effect, socioeconomic status was negatively correlated to negative effect and negotiable fate;(2) Negotiable fate partly mediated the relationship between socioeconomic status and life satisfaction and negative effect , and fully mediated the relationship between socioeconomic status and positive effect. The study concluded that socioeconomic status could predicted positively subjective well-being of college students and negotiable fate played the mediating role in the relationship between socioeconomic status and subjective well-being. Cultivating negotiable fate can increase peoples subjective well-being.

In order to preliminarily verify the effectiveness and mechanisms of meridian-following meditation training on physiological relaxation, 20 students voluntarily participated in the single meridian-following meditation training, and EDG data(heart rate variability) was recorded before and during the training by polygraph. The results show that meridian-following meditation training can reduce the heart rate and has a relaxing effect, but its long-term effect still needs further study.

We developed the entrepreneurial mental models questionnaire(EMMQ) for college students and evaluated its reliability and validity. Based on literature analysis and interview, the dimension of EMMQ was determined and the items were collected. Six hundred and thirty college students were tested for the first time, and the data was analyzed using item analysis, exploratory factorial analysis. Then 1026 college students were formally tested, and the data was analyzed using confirmatory factorial analysis, and the test of reliability and validity. The results showed that the EMMQ consisted of three factors, which were entrepreneurial cognitive system, entrepreneurial motivation system and entrepreneurial behavior intention. Confirmatory factorial analysis have verified that the three dimensional model fitted well. The internal consistency reliability, split half reliability and the criterion related validity were reached to a significant level. The results of construct validity and reliability analysis showed that the EMMQ had reached the psychometric standard, and can be used as a measurement tool for college students entrepreneurial mental models.

Three Approaches to Examine the mediating Effect:A View of Causal Effect Chain

    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (11):  665-676.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.11.004
    Abstract ( 2739 )   PDF(pc) (778KB) ( 2200 )   Save
Theoretically, the mediating effect indicates the development of psychology. However, it is necessary to rethink whether the seemingly flourishing investigation of mediating effect is a real indicator of the development of psychological research. The mediating effect in psychology aims to investigate the psychological mechanism between independent variables and dependent variables. Therefore, a mediating effect contains three pairs of causal effect among independent variable, dependent variable, and mediating variable. There are three approaches can be used to examine the mediating effect: cross-sectional-measurement-approaches, trace-measurement-approaches, and experiment-design-approaches. Under the view of casual effect chain, the advantageous and disadvantageous of each approach were discussed.

On the Formation and Generation of Need for Cognitive Closure
    ZHOU Pengsheng
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (11):  677-687.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.11.005
    Abstract ( 1140 )   PDF(pc) (678KB) ( 811 )   Save
Need for cognitive closure is a cognitive motivation, a kind of trait construct, including 5 variables as preference for order, preference for predictability, decisiveness, and discomfort with ambiguity and closed-mindness. The variable of decisiveness was not closely connected with other variables but did its best during quick decision making. Seizing and freezing were the two important periods during the generation of need for cognitive closure. The property of performance was very important during the generation of need for cognitive closure. Need for cognitive closure was affected by such factors, mainly as ambiguity context, ambiguity intolerance, time pressure, noise, feature framing, etc. Future studies are expected to study in a cross-culture and longitudinal ways, interpret it in different domains, and construct theories of need for cognitive closure during the processing from uncertainty to certainty.

Mindfulness is a kind of awareness of the physical and mental experience of the present moment with an open and non-judgmental attitude. In recent decades, with the wide application of mindfulness training in clinical medicine and psychological treatment and its significant efficacy reported, more and more Chinese researchers turn their attention to the field of mindfulness. In this paper, the concept, elements, mechanism, measurement and application of mindfulness are summarized. Future studies can further combine the local Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism culture on the basis of  empirical research to fully explore the psychological connotation of mindfulness, and develop new mindfulness measurement tools which match better with Chinese people.

Experiential Avoidance: Concept, Occurrence Mechanism and Measurement
    ZUO Yazhou, ZHANG Yanan
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2018, 6 (11):  696-704.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2018.11.007
    Abstract ( 1897 )   PDF(pc) (620KB) ( 1258 )   Save
Experiential avoidance(EA) is the phenomenon that occurs when a person attempts to alter the form or frequency of private experiences of disgust and the contexts that occasion those experiences. Its a core concept of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and putting forward this concept has important meanings in classification of mental disorders and psychotherapy. Relational Frame Theory can account for the pervasiveness of EA. Currently, there are three measurements created specifically to assess EA. Studies in the future may enrich the contents and methods of studies of EA, probe into the interventional studies of mindfulness technique on EA, and strengthen the Chinese research of experiential avoidance.
