Basing on the extended contact hypothesis and its research, 181 Uyghur college students were selected to investigate the effect of two different valence of contact, that is, positive and negative extended contact, on intergroup attitude, and whether selfclosure served as a mediator. The results showed that positive extended contact occurred more frequently than negative extended contact and they were weakly correlated with each other. Furthermore, selfclosure mediated the relationship between positive and negative extended contact and intergroup attitude. Selfclosure was an important factor that could explain extended contact effect and attention shall be paid to increasing the frequency of positive extended contact as well as reducing the frequency of negative extended contact.

This research aimed to explore the effect of subjective socioeconomic status on depression, and the mediating role of selfesteem. A selfreported questionnaire survey using an 8-item subjective socioeconomic status questionnaire, selfesteem scale and depression scale was conducted to collect 319 freshmens data. The results indicated that (1) Subjective socioeconomic status was significantly positively correlated to selfesteem, subjective socioeconomic status was significantly negatively correlated to depression; (2) Both subjective socioeconomic status and selfesteem can significantly negatively predict the level of depression; (3) Subjective socioeconomic status can predict the level of depression through selfesteem, and selfesteem partly mediated the relationship between subjective socioeconomic status and depression. Therefore, improving freshmens subjective socioeconomic status and selfesteem has a positive effect on depression among freshmen.

The study took college students as subjects, adopted communication paradigm, created three communication contexts, and explored the influence of communicative context and task characteristics on the attention of both learners through communicative learning task and individual task. The research was a mixed experimental design of 3(communicative context)×2(task type)×2(score group). Results showed that: Non linguistic factors in the communication contexts increased in turn, would gradually promote the language simplification. Object visibility hindered the language cognition and communication cognition, and expression visibility promoted the communication cognition. The interaction between expression and language reflected the saving of communication cognitive resources.

    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2019, 7 (8):  472-484.  DOI: 10.16842/j.cnki.issn2095-5588.2019.08.004
    Abstract ( 686 )   PDF(pc) (736KB) ( 1782 )   Save
This study aims to develop a trait forgiveness questionnaire for Chinese college students, hoping to use it as a testing tool for forgiveness education and forgiveness treatment. The questionnaire was first developed on the basis of previous literature review, open questionnaire survey, individual interview and the evaluation of the existing tools used to measure trait forgiveness in western countries. 614 and 413 college students were surveyed respectively. A series of analysis were carried out following a standardized process of developing questionnaire, including item analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The results show that the reliability and validity of the questionnaire are in line with the psychometric standards, that the 8item questionnaire consists of two factors—Tendency to Forgive and Tendency to Revenge—whose cumulative variance contribution rate is 48.11%, and that the twofactor trait forgiveness model has the best fit index compared with other competitive models.

Gamebased leadership training (GBLT) is an intervention to enhance individual leadership by incorporating elements of gamification such as role playing, competition, and reward systems. It is based on the integration of leadership trainings based on action and experience. Compared with other leadership training, GBLT will make learners more engaged, more creative, and more confident in their ability and the environment, which makes training activities more effective. However, existing research about GBLT suffers from problems, such as unclear theoretical foundations, ambiguous mechanism, and inadequate evaluation of its effect. Based on the contrast among different types of GBLT, this article analyses the theoretical foundation and mechanism of GBLT in order to determine the best way to combine leadership research and GBLT. This article also gives advice to future research and practice in the field of leadership training.

Third-party punishment refers to the activity that the punisher has the tendency to punish uncooperative behaviors even though he(she) is not affected by. It is an invisible social norm that helps maintain behaviors like equitable distribution, cooperation, commitment, and so forth. Researches show that third-party punishment is affected by various factors like demographic factors (individuals age), individual psychological factors (personality traits) and social psychological factors (group preference). The future research is to explore other influence factors and the different cost of the punishment, and to study the application of third party punishment in the maintenance of social system.
