Little Kindness in Daily Life: Social Mindfulness and its Characteristics, Affecting Factors and Outlook on it

Abstract:

Social mindfulness is an altruistic behavior that is understanding others and voluntarily surrendering the right of choice in social intercourse that contains the ability of paying attention to and perceiving others and the willingness of condoning the right to others. Compared with other typical altruistic behaviors, the characteristics of social mindfulness low-cost and initiative, which is of great significance to the research of altruistic behaviors in daily life. Social mindfulness is influenced by theory of mind, personality traits, interpersonal distance and moral principles. To further expand the factors and mechanisms of social mindfulness, the physiological mechanisms, the changes of social mindfulness with individual development and social mindfulness in different cultures could be focused on in future research.
