Eating disorders are characterized by persistent disturbances in one’s eating and related behaviors, accompanied by a series of serious disorders, which will cause great harm to patients’ physical and mental health. Early studies tended to focus more on the impact of social and psychological factors. Until recent years, with the development of studies on interoception, the influence of interoception on eating disorders have attracted more and more attention. Starting from the dimensions of interoception, this paper reviewed researches of interoceptive deficits in typical types and common associated phenomena of eating disorders. Further researches should pay more attention on how investigation of interoception on eating disorders could change and improve the intervention of eating disorders.

The generation of emotions is closely related to physical changes. The changes in the physical state and its internal sensory signals can constitute emotional feelings, and it is possible to shape emotional styles.Internal feelings and emotions have a common physiological basis, which is centered on the anterior insula and the anterior cingulate cortex. The predictive processing theory of inner feelings provides us with a theoretical framework that integrates inner feelings and emotions.According to the theory of internal perception prediction processing(IPP), emotional state is produced in the process of reducing internal perception prediction errors and predicting the causes of internal perception signals. The predictive processing theory of internal feelings not only provides a new theoretical perspective for re-understanding the relationship between internal feelings and emotions, but also provides a new possible method for the treatment of emotional-related mental illnesses from the perspective of internal feelings.

The Influence of the Prevalence of Group Members’ Behaviors on Expecting others’ Behaviors: The Mediating Role of Norm Perception
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2022, 10 (12):  721-730,739.
    Abstract ( 87 )   PDF(pc) (1406KB) ( 389 )   Save

People can anticipate the behaviors of unknown individuals based on group information. In order to investigate the influence of the prevalence of group members’ behaviors on expecting others’ behaviors in a situation where there was a conflict between achieving the efficiency of individual goals and conforming to group members’ behaviors, and the role of norm perception in such kind of situation, the study used textual materials to simulate the situation. Two experiments were conducted among 208 college students and 166 public individuals. The results found that: (1) In a situation where there was a conflict between achieving the efficiency of individual goals and conforming to group members’ behaviors, the prevalence of group members’ behaviors positively predicted behavior expectation, and the norm perception played a mediating role in such kind of situation; (2) Whether it was a tight group or a loose group, the higher the prevalence of a certain behavior in the group was, the stronger the norm perception of the behavior would be in the group, thus making it easier to tend to anticipate that more people in the group would behave the same way. This study revealed the important role of people’s norm perception of group behaviors in anticipating group members’ behaviors.

Stress Perception and Problematic Smartphone Use in Adolescents: The Role of Rumination and Emotion Regulation
CHU Yunfeng, JIANG Yongzhi, MAO Zheng
    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2022, 10 (12):  731-739.
    Abstract ( 226 )   PDF(pc) (727KB) ( 551 )   Save

To explore the relationship between stress perception and adolescent problem smartphones use, and the roles of ruminant thinking and emotion regulation. A sample of 514 junior high school students was surveyed with Chinese version of the Stress Perception Scale, Ruminant Thinking Scale, Emotion Regulation Scale and Smartphone Addiction Scale. The results showed that: (1) Correlation analysis showed that stress perception, rumination thinking, emotion regulation (expression inhibition) and problematic smartphone use were positively corelated with each other. (2) The mediating effect of ruminant thinking and emotion regulation (expression inhibition) between stress perception and problematic smartphone use was statistically significant. (3) The chain mediating effect of ruminant thinking and emotion regulation (expression inhibition) was also significant. Conclusion: Stress perception can either positively predict problem smartphone use, or indirectly affect problem smartphone use through the chain mediation of ruminant thinking and emotion regulation (expression inhibition).

The novel coronavirus epidemic with its high uncertainty and mortality has caused a surge in negative emotional experiences such as anxiety and fear around the world. As a self-regulation strategy, Autonomous orientation can decrease the negative impact of threat situation on self by viewing self as an individual with autonomy. 2 subject-between experiments were designed to investigate merely priming people with autonomous orientation can buffer death anxiety triggered by the COVID-19 epidemic. Results demonstrated that the neutral and controlled priming group both displayed heightened levels of death-related thoughts accessibility after reminded of themselves suffering from COVID-19 compared with dental pain, whereas participants who were primed with autonomous motivation did not show any increase. These findings support the evidence that autonomous orientation can sever as existential buffer and help people cope with the psychological terror triggered by the COVID-19 epidemic. Future research examining whether priming autonomous orientation would generate long-term death anxiety buffering effect and promote psychological growth.

    Psychology: Techniques and Application. 2022, 10 (12):  755-768.
    Abstract ( 176 )   PDF(pc) (1131KB) ( 352 )   Save

In order to grasp the research hotspots and development trends of foreign campus bullying macroscopically, the bibliometric method was used to analyze the annual publication volume, annual citation volume, institution, author, country, keywords and other indicators of 5331 papers on campus bullying in the past two decades. The results showed that the annual publication volume and annual citation volume of school bullying research are increasing year by year. The United States is the most important country producing international school bullying research, and the influence of China’s school bullying research on the international stage needs to be further improved. Research hotspots and development trends of bullying include exploring the negative personality factors that lead to school bullying and the positive personality factors that alleviate school bullying to more accurately intervene and suppress school bullying, pay attention to and explore the characteristics and intervention paths of school bullying of sexual minorities, and further clarify the relationship between bullying and traditional school bullying, in-depth exploration of the complex mechanism between body image and bullying behavior, and continuous innovation on the basis of continuing traditional methods of intervening and suppressing school bullying, etc.
