Abstract: To explore the development of preschoolers block building level and the effects of task scenario and difficulty on it, 95 preschoolers aged 3 to 6 participated in this study and completed two block buildings with two different difficulty level in two different task scenarios. The researchers evaluated the block building level in two aspects including skills indexes and unique indexes. The results showed that: (1) All scores of block building evaluation index gradually improved as the grade rises; (2) Preschoolers building blocks in simulation scenario are higher than proposition scenario building blocks; (3) Building difficult blocks needs more blocks than easy building, and the scores of building works height, elaborating and inventiveness are higher than easy building;(4) In simulation scenario, difficult blocks building is higher than easy building, and scores of building works height, elaborating and inventiveness are higher than easy building, but the balance score is lower than easy building; in proposition scenario, the scores of building works height, balance, elaborating and inventiveness are higher than easy building. The results indicated that with the growth of grade, preschoolers blocks building skills gradually mature, and their building level increasingly enhance; preschoolers blocks building level is susceptible to the task difficulty and situation; the process of building blocks can contribute to the development of preschoolers imagination and creativity.
