Abstract: This paper aims to compare the saccadic differences in different saccade tasks between normal children and children with learning disabilities (LD)by adopting eyemovement technology, so as to identify the children with learning disabilities (LD)early. The research was based on the nontext materials, three experiments were conducted to observe the saccades characteristics of normal children and those with learning disabilities. The first experiment was to make a comparison of the eye movement index of normal children and children with learning disabilities in reactive saccade task, which showed that the LD performed normally in reflexive saccades. Experiment II (antisaccade task) and experiment III (memoryguided saccade task) examined their ability of voluntary control of saccadic eye movements, the results indicated that the voluntary control of saccadic eye movements in learning disabilities were abnormal and delayed.
Key words: learning disabilities; voluntary control of saccadic eye movements; reflexive saccades; inhibition control; working memory
