Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between social mindfulness and subjective well-being of college students, as well as the mediating role of basic psychological needs and moderating role of perceived social support. A convenience sampling method was used to conduct the survey among 1300 college students, using the Social Mindfulness Self-Report Scale, the Basic Psychological Needs Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale and the Well-Being Index Scale. The results showed that: (1) Social mindfulness was positively correlated with subjective well-being; (2) Basic psychological needs played a partially mediating role in social mindfulness and subjective well-being; (3) Perceived social support played a moderating role in the relationship between social mindfulness and both subjective well-being and basic psychological needs. The findings of this study can provide theoretical basis for cultivating college students' social mindfulness and subjective well-being.
