Abstract: It is found that high level of team trust can improve the performance of basic unit of combat troops. This study proposed that team trust in basic unit of combat troops originates both from the accumulation of interaction experiences among team members(a form of interpersonal trust) and from servicemen’s identification to military institutions(a form of institutional trust). Based on the framework of twodimensions of team trust in basic unit of combat troops, i.e., interpersonal trust and institutional trust, this study designed the scale of team trust in basic unit of combat troops which contains a subscale of interpersonal trust and a subscale of institutional trust. Each of them included 8 items and adopted a 7point Likert scale. The scale was administrated to a sample of 369 male servicemen in 3 troops. Results showed that the scale of team trust in basic unit of combat troops has good construct validity and criterionrelated validity, and the total scale and two subscales have good internal consistency reliabilities. It suggests that the scale is an effective instrument to measure team trust in basic unit of combat troops.

Key words: basic unit of combat troops; team trust; interpersonal trust; institutional trust
