The Effect of Physiological Feedback on Music Emotion Response

Abstract: The goal of the current study was to explore the effects of different physiological feedback on music emotion by subjective emotion selfassessment and physiological indexes. Results showed: (1) In the real feedback experiments, the subjective emotion, respiration and heart rate with physiological feedback were higher than those without physiological feedback (2) In the simulation feedback experiment, the subjective emotion and heart rate with physiological feedback were higher than those without physiological feedback; in the positive music, the positive emotion effect induced by feedback is greater. The above two experiments showed that physiological feedback could enhance the inducing effect of positive music emotion; Positive music induced stronger emotional experience.
