Self-efficacy, Social Support, and Subjective Wellbeing in Mothers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract: In order to investigate the impact of maternal selfefficacy on their subjective wellbeing of mothers with autistic children and the mediating role of maternal social support, the author surveyed 92 mothers with autistic children through SelfEfficacy Questionnaire, Social Support Questionnaire and Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire. The results showed that both maternal selfefficacy and maternal social support were positively correlated to their subjective wellbeing; Maternal selfefficacy significantly predicted their subjective wellbeing and maternal social support mediated the relationship between selfefficacy and subjective wellbeing.
