Psychological Suzhi and Social support in Undergraduates: The Mediating Role of Parenting Style

Abstract: To explore the relationship among psychological suzhi, social support and parenting style of undergraduates, a total of 310 students were investigated with the SSRS, the college students psychological suzhi scale and the sEMBUC. The results indicated as following:(1)The psychological suzhi was positively correlated with social support and the emotional warmth of parenting style.(2)The emotional warmth of parenting style and social support predicted psychological suzhi directly.(3)The emotional warmth of parenting style had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between social support and psychological suzhi. In conclusion, the results revealed that the positive parenting style can promote the development of college students psychological suzhi, and served as a mediator in the relationship between social support and psychological suzhi.
