Case Conceptualization: Development, Predicament and Integration Model

Abstract: Case conceptualization is the best explanation and theoretical assumption based on the information extracted from client and their problems, and it guides the practical process of psychological counseling. It is not only the core comprehensive ability of psychological counselors, but it is also an indispensable part of the psychological counseling process. However, based on specific diagnoses or psychological schools, it has fallen into the predicament where high importance is placed on the counselors professional certification but low utilization of clinical counseling. Meanwhile, the conceptual framework of cases conceptualization can be clarified from the perspective of integration through the introduction and comparison of existing integration models. Among them, the Integration Evidence-Based Model is systematic, scientific, simple, personalized, and flexible, which greatly improves the applicability and practicability of case conceptualization in clinical psychological practice.
