Reliability and Validity of Psychological Entitlement Scale in Chinese College Students

Abstract: In this research, undergraduates are taken as respondents, so as to revise the Chinese edition of The Psychological Entitlement Scale. The research selects 536 undergraduates (sample 1) for project analysis and exploratory factor analysis. Additionally, 412 undergraduates (sample 2) are selected for confirmatory factor analysis, converge validity, discrimination validity, combination validity and internal consistency reliability inspection. The inspection of criterion and correlation validity adopts Narcissistic Personality Questionnaire, Trait Anger Scale and Me Versus Other Scale. The revised The Psychological Entitlement Scale is consistent with the original scale, including 9 items, which have the single dimensional structure. The revised scale has rather good reliability and validity, so as to be used as tools for measuring and assessing the psychological entitlement level of graduates.
