The Validity and Reliability of the Chinese Version of Smartphone Addiction Scale in College Students

Abstract: To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS), a sample of 1247 college students was tested, in which 50 students were selected for re-test four weeks later. Meanwhile, the Chinese Internet Addiction Scales Revision and the Regulatory Emotional Selfefficacy Scale were selected as the criterion measurement. It was found that the Smartphone Addiction Scale consisted of six factors, i. e., daily-life disturbance, positive anticipation, withdrawal, importance, cyberspace-oriented relationship, overuse and tolerance, and 57. 13 of the total variance was explained. It had satisfying reliability and validity. It is an effective tool of testing the smartphone addiction in college student.
