Resilience and Two-child Fertility Desire among Women of Childbearing Age in the Perspective of Pregnancy Experience: The Moderating Role of Social Support

Abstract: A sample of 377 women of childbearing age who had pregnancy experience was recruited to complete Resilient Trait Scale for Chinese Adults, Social Support Rating Scale and Desire of Two-child Fertility Questionnaire. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the resilience and two-child fertility desire among young women of childbearing age, and to examine whether social support play a role of moderator between the resilience and Two-child fertility desire of the young women of childbearing age. The results showed that: (1) Resilience  negatively predicted the two-child fertility desire of women of childbearing age significantly. (2) The subjective support  positively predicted the two-child fertility desire of women of childbearing age significantly. (3) The utilization of support had a significant moderating effect on the resilience and two-child fertility desire.
