Relationship Between Social Support and Negative Emotions of Male Prisoners:Mediating Effect of Loneliness

Abstract: This study has used the questionnaires to measure the loneliness, social support and negative emotion level of 420 male prisoners in prison in Beijing and Guangzhou, and we have explored the relationship between them. This study found that (1) social support and loneliness were significantly negatively correlated with negative emotions, (2) loneliness and negative emotions showed significant positive correlation, and (3) loneliness had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between social support and negative emotions of male prisoners.
