Abstract: This study first determined the definition and structure of Mencius conscience by means of literature research. It consists of five dimensions, which are Ce-yin、Xiu-chi、Yan-wu、Jing-rang and Shi-fei. Deduotion is the main method and induction is the supplement . Two junior high schools and two senior high schools are selected in Guizhou and Jiangsu Provinces. 211 open questionnaires are retrieved and the original question bank is completed. 43 students in the first grade were selected for the difficulty test of all the items. After that, one junior high school and one high school were selected in Guizhou Province, and 331 questionnaires were collected. Through item analysis (correlation coefficient of item and total score, degree of discrimination, factor interpretation rate) and structural analysis (parallel analysis, minimum average partial, exploratory structural equation model), 29 items and five dimensions  were initially identified. Subsequently, 613 data were collected in Guizhou, Jiangsu and Anhui. The internal consistency reliability and the test reliability are used to test the reliability of the scale. The validity of the scale was tested by content validity, structural validity, SEM-based convergence and discriminant validity, and criterion-related validity. The results show that the middle school students Liang-xin scale has good reliability and validity. It can be used as a measurement tool for the level of Liang-xin of middle school students.

Key words: Mencius Liang-xin, middle school students, item analysis, reliability, validity
