Abstract: In order to explore gender-science stereotypes of cross categorized groups consisted by gender and major categories, the Implicit Association Test (IAT) and the Self Report were used to examine gender-science stereotypes from implicit and explicit processing levels, respectively. The results showed that four cross categorized groups held gender-science stereotypes in the explicit level. In the explicit level, only male science students, male arts students and female arts students held gender-science stereotypes, while female science students did not have that stereotypes. These results implied that gender-science stereotypes were deeply ingrained in people's minds, even for female science students and male arts students.

Key words: gender-science stereotypes, cross categorized groups, female science students, male arts students
