The Preparation of Creating an Professional and Effective Psychological Counseling Group

Abstract: Group counseling, called “Magic Circle”, is a viable and efficient means to respond to a wide range of mental problems. The literature and practice in group counseling show that the stage of preparation is the necessary stage of group counseling, which is very important and valuable. It affects the group formation, the group dynamics and the work effectiveness. The group preparation stage includes the establishment of the working team, the orientation of the group, the choice of the site, the recruitment and selection of the members. The specific content and working methods of every aspect are explored to ensure the group preparation professional, standardized, sufficient, which will lay a solid foundation for the coming effective work.
