The Effect of Relative Deprivation on Groups Belonging of Migrant Children:The Mediating Role of Identity Integration

Abstract: To explore the association of relative deprivation, identity integration and groups belonging in Migrant Children(MC). 208 Migrant Children were investigated by the Relative Deprivation Scale of Migrant Children, Groups Belonging Questionnaire and Identity Integration Scale—for Migrant Children. The results showed that:(1)The correlations among relative deprivation, identity integration, and groups belonging of MC were significant. Specifically, Relative deprivation of MC predicted their groups belonging and identity integration negatively, identity integration predicted groups belonging positively.(2)Identity integration played a partial mediating role in the relationship between relative deprivation and groups belonging.
